NOTICE – The next meeting of the BRRC Club will be Tuesday, July 11th at the Greenwell Springs Road Library at 7:00 PM

President Bob McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

The Secretary read the minutes from our May 2006 meeting.  All members present approved them.

The Treasurer gave us a report on our financial status.  All members present approved his report.

Blackie was asked for a Field Committee report.  He said the grass wasn’t growing since we weren’t getting much rain.  There were signs of digging on the runway.

Mike said he didn’t have any safety events to discuss but reminded us to remember to always do our preflight inspections.  It is simple to do and can save needless injury by finding a problem while the plane is still on the ground.

OLD BUSINESS
Bob reminded us the roadwork was changing how we get to the field.  He said that the new eastbound lane of traffic is now open.  This makes it necessary for us to go all the way to Erwinville to turn around and come back east to get to our driveway.

Charlie still has fuel available.

Vic still has hats available.

L A Warbirds will have a fly in Sulphur, LA on June 23 – 25.  A flyer is available on our web site if you are interested.

Lee said there is nothing in the event area to discuss right now.  We had our family day fun fly in May, which was a great success until the rain cut it short.  October, we have our Fun-scale flyin.  George said that he is thinking of doing a poker flyin as part of the program.  He will work out the rules and present them later.

NEW BUSINESS

Mike talked about the tree line east of the field, asking if we would be interested in paying the rental on a piece of equipment to finish clearing this area.  Charlie proposed that we get a cost estimate before we approve any expenditure.  Mike will find out what it will cost.  We also talked about the tree line north of the field and along the road coming back to our field.
New sign.  We still don’t have our new sign that has been paid for since January.  Bob will call Farley and ask him to check on it.  ( Note:    Sign is at the field and looks great!  )

The status of the Stanley mower was brought up since we have the new mower.  It was asked if we wanted to sell it now or keep it.  The discussion addressed various dispositions but it was decided to keep it for now.
Keith Lear applied for membership.  He is a new pilot, has his AMA card and was approved for membership by all members present.

No raffle due to someone forgot to bring the tickets.  Next meeting we will have them.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 7:35 PM.

NOTE:  OUR JULY MEETING HAS BEEN MOVED TO JULY 11 BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAY ON THE 4th.
